TYLER SHAW WINS SOCAN AWARD FOR “WICKED”

(June 20, 2017 – Toronto, ON) – Singer-songwriter Tyler Shaw was honoured last night with a SOCAN Award in the Pop Music Award category for his single “Wicked.” The award recognizes iconic songs that have reached the 100k airplay mark on domestic radio. The track is from his 2015 debut album Yesterday, and the award is shared with his co-writers Ryan Kowarsky and Alex Vujic. Tyler accepted the award at the gala event in Toronto that recognizes Canada’s music creators and publishers across a wide variety of genres.

 

Currently, Tyler is busy promoting his starring role in the film The Meaning of Life, which premiered in LA last month, and will be releasing new music this summer 2017.

 

Coquitlam, BC native, Tyler Shaw, entered the music scene in 2012 with his striking Platinum single, “Kiss Goodnight.” Continuing his rise to fame, in 2014 Tyler was nominated for a JUNO Award for ‘Breakthrough Artist of the Year.’ He released his debut album Yesterday on September 4, 2015 which also features the certified Gold ballad, “House of Cards.” Tyler has performed for HRH Prince Harry and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the Invictus Games launch in Toronto, and landed opening slots with major artists including Selena Gomez, Shawn Mendes, Francesco Yates and Pitbull.

 

 

Yesterday was recorded in Ontario with the support of the Ontario Media Development Corporation.
