[Toronto, ON – August 20, 2021]  With over 250 million streams across his discography to date, pop singer-songwriter Tyler Shaw releases his third studio album and first self-titled offering via Sony Music Entertainment Canada. With a mix of songs written pre and post pandemic, the eponymous album is the culmination of Shaw’s near decade of experience in the music industry. This deeply personal project is Shaw’s self-defined “coming of age” record for the producer, artist, and actor.  Produced by Tyler alongside a host of other notable song producers (Nick Henriques, Jon Levine, Alex ‘Pilz’ Vujic, Frank Walker, Martin Wave), it is the next step in the evolution of Shaw’s song-craft, vocal mastery, and melodic pop hooks. Listen here.

“In some ways, I’m treating this like my debut album,” Shaw says of the endeavor. “I feel it’s time to introduce myself to the rest of the world.”

The album features the hit single, “When You’re Home,” produced by Jon Levine (Dua Lipa, Drake, Alessia Cara) – touted by Marie Claire as one of the ‘Best New Love Songs of 2021 (So Far), is a testament to the leaps and bounds the British Columbia-born, Chinese-Canadian talent has made in his home country and beyond. It also includes the first single, “Remember,” a high-octane optimistic dance-inspired song that is now certified Gold. Other tracks are “Be Like You,” “North Star,” and the summer jam “Sex on the Beach.”

This year is like no other for Tyler Shaw, this highly anticipated album comes three years shy of the launch of his JUNO Award-nominated and certified Gold sophomore album Intuition. He also recently passed 100 million streams on Spotify alone. Notably, this past May, Shaw celebrated Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month as a speaker on the Recording Academy / GRAMMYs ‘Telling Our Stories’ panel with mxmtoon and Taku Hirano, plus a performance for IDENTITY 2021 (presented by Amazon Music and IMDb/IMDb Pro) with funds raised benefiting Gold House AAPI Community Fund towards #StopAsianHate efforts and Pacific Bridge Arts musical scholarships. Other guests included ATEEZ, Gabrielle Current, Guapdad 4000, James Reid, Kalani Peʻa, Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda, Steve Aoki, and more.
