TYLA RELEASES “BLISS”
GRAMMY®-WINNING
MULTI-PLATINUM GLOBAL SUPERSTAR
TYLA
RETURNS WITH NEW SINGLE
“BLISS”
AVAILABLE NOW
(May 9, 2025) The GRAMMY®-winning multi-platinum global superstar who swept the world into the “Water” with a record-setting debut campaign and album in 2024 has returned with a hot new single. “Bliss,” produced by Nolan Lambroza, Dylan Wiggins, and NovaWav, is available now. Stream it here.
Tyla first previewed the song at the second weekend of Coachella last month and subsequently teased the release of the song on social media, cryptically posting its steamy artwork and title. Anticipation for the singer’s official return built quickly, with half-a-million followers “double-tapping” the Instagram post alone, and viral tweets with view counts in the hundreds-of-thousands dominating the airwaves. Fans can look forward to hearing the song performed at NYC’s Governors Ball where Tyla will take the stage on Friday of the festival weekend.
On Monday, Tyla made her return to the Met Gala in New York City, the most prestigious fashion event and red carpet of the year. This year, she took an even larger role as a new member of the 2025 host committee. She again offered a scene-stealing moment — following 2024’s viral head-turning custom Balmain gown — and woke up on Tuesday to see VOGUE, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and more discussing her Jacquemus gown styled by Law Roach. The dress was designed to pay tribute to the late style and Vogue icon André Leon Talley. Check out the behind the scenes of her Met Gala look live on Vogue’s Last Looks here.
The weeks leading up to this moment have been just as eventful for Tyla. In April, she made her debut appearance at Coachella, dominating headlines as she took her self-titled debut album to the world-renowned festival stage in the desert. Upon announcing her new single, Tyla revealed a collaboration with the upscale grocery brand Erewhon: the “Bliss” smoothie. Proceeds gained from the smoothie will go towards 18twenty8, a charity focused on empowering young women in South Africa through support for education initiatives and personal development.
Her debut album, TYLA, was the highest charting for an African female soloist in Billboard 200 history. “Water,” her triple-platinum superstar-turning hit, helped the singer achieve the same feat on the Billboard Hot 100.
Following her first-career GRAMMY victory in 2024 — ”Water” for ‘Best African Music Performance’ — Tyla has received nods at the BET Awards, MTV VMAs, MTV Europe Awards, and a plethora of others. Most recently, at Billboard Women in Music, Tyla was the Impact Award honoree and performed the chart-topping single from her TYLA+ deluxe album, “PUSH 2 START.” In conversation with Billboard, Tyla gave fans a taste of what’s to come from her second go-round.
“I’ve changed a lot in a short amount of time because I was kind of forced to – with how fast I had to adapt to everything,” she said. “I don’t think it’s going to be the same energy at all, especially with what I’ve started making. It’s different, but also still Tyla.”
“Bliss” is now playing.
