May 22, 2020 – Today, Grammy Award-winning band TRAIN has released their brand-new track, “Rescue Dog”– listen HERE. Coinciding with the song’s release, the band teamed up with North Shore Animal League America, the world’s largest no-kill rescue and adoption organization, to debut the new single alongside a special music video that shines a light on animal rescue. The release comes on the heels of National Rescue Dog Day this week which saw Americans celebrating their rescue dogs and bringing awareness to those in need of adoption.

“Rescue Dog” showcases Train’s signature sound and inspiring lyrics that will resonate with animal lovers everywhere. The accompanying music video, produced entirely from home to raise awareness and funding for North Shore Animal League America, features some of the rescued and adopted animals that they have helped to find their loving homes as well as a few of the many celebrity supporters who have adopted from NSALA including Allison Williams, Lisa Lampanelli, Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts, Lara Spencer & Ginger Zee, ABC News’ Will Ganss, and New York Mets player Jeff McNeil. A portion of proceeds from the song will benefit North Shore Animal League America’s no-kill mission and their ongoing efforts during the current global health crisis. To make an additional donation, visit https://www.animalleague.org/train.

Howard Stern praised the song on his SiriusXM radio show, playing a sneak peek of the track for his listeners in January. Both Stern and his wife Beth are incredible animal advocates and longtime supporters of North Shore Animal League America, having adopted and fostered many animals themselves, and helped to inspire frontman Pat Monahan when writing the song.

“Rescue Dog is a song that my good friends Jerry Becker and Matt Musty wrote with me. It’s inspired by the great work that Beth and Howard Stern do to save animals and find great homes for them. It was a lot of fun to write and it will be even more fun to help continue what the Stern’s have done for so many years,” says Monahan.

Earlier this week, Monahan made an appearance on The Today Show, surprising brides across the world with a very special performance of “Marry Me” – watch the heartfelt moment HERE.

About Train

Train is a multi-GRAMMY and Billboard award-winning band from San Francisco that has had 14 songs on Billboard’s Hot 100 list since the release of their debut self-titled album. Train’s climb to the top began in 1994, as the original 5-member band tenaciously built a loyal hometown following, leading up to their debut album, released by Columbia in 1998. The tumbling wordplay of “Meet Virginia” gave them their first unlikely radio hit and 2001’s “Drops Of Jupiter” broke them to multi-platinum status thanks to the double-Grammy Award-winning title song that spent 10 months in the Top 40. The group won another GRAMMY award in 2011 for their global hit “Hey Soul Sister,” the No.1 best-selling smash and most downloaded single of 2010 from their multi-platinum album “Save Me, San Francisco.” They’ve sold more than 10 million albums and 30 million tracks worldwide, with multiple platinum/gold citations, including three GRAMMY Awards, two Billboard Music Awards and dozens of other honors. Train has had 12 albums on the Billboard 200 albums chart with their 2014 “Bulletproof Picasso” reaching No. 4 in 2012 and 2017’s “a girl a bottle a boat” debuting at No. 8. “Play That Song,” the lead single from “a girl a bottle a boat,” went platinum in four countries including the U.S., hit Top 5 on the US iTunes chart, Top 10 at Hot AC radio, and charted at Adult Top 40. This past summer, Train took over amphitheaters across the country on a co-headline tour with the Goo Goo Dolls. Train frontman, Pat Monahan, partakes in other ventures outside of music, including his newly-launched Drops of Jupiter® wine portfolio. Proceeds from his wine business support Family House, a San Francisco charity that supports families of children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
