SMILEY IN HIS MOST CONFIDENT ERA YET WITH NEVER BOX ME IN
OUT NOW!
Featuring new single, “Ratchet Baby” with Roy Woods
(Toronto, ON – November 7, 2025) – Toronto’s own Smiley returns with Never Box Me In — the deluxe edition of his acclaimed project Don’t Box Me In. Out via OVO Sound, this release cements Smiley’s position as one of Toronto’s most distinctive and authentic voices, expanding the world he built on the original project with five brand-new songs that cut deeper and hit harder.
Where Don’t Box Me In introduced fans to Smiley’s unfiltered perspective and signature cadence, Never Box Me In sharpens that focus. The deluxe edition finds Smiley in full command of his sound — darker, more assertive, and unwavering in confidence. It’s the sound of an artist who knows exactly who he is and refuses to conform.

“They try to box me in, but they still can’t. Never can. I’m better than them and stronger than them,” says Smiley.
The focus track, “Ratchet Baby” featuring Roy Woods, marks a standout collaboration between two of Toronto’s most unique voices. Balancing Smiley’s street poise with Roy’s smooth melodic delivery, the record bridges R&B and rap in a way that feels both raw and cinematic. A visual featuring both artists drops on release day, setting the tone for this new chapter in Smiley’s journey.
