“We’ve grown a lot as artists and humans in the past five years,” the Annies stated. “This album is more mature than our last ones, but still fun. The best way to describe Interstate Gospel is that it sounds like three women came unleashed and told a bunch of truth. We didn’t hold back and we’re proud of it. Our hope is that when people listen, they feel some of the same magic that we felt when we were writing these songs.”

Last night (11/1), the group celebrated the release with an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” Watch their performance of “Best Years of My Life” here. Tune in this morning (11/2) to “Good Morning America” on ABC to catch their performance of “Got My Name Changed Back.”
Penned by the Pistol Annies, the 14-track album showcases the group’s stunning harmonies, such as the “classic country tearjerker” (Stereogum) “Masterpiece”; “sly take on gender roles” (Variety) “Sugar Daddy”; “saucy, high-spirited” (Rolling Stone) “Stop Drop and Roll One“; “more irreverent than earnest” (NPR) “Interstate Gospel”; and “confession of dead-end desperation” (New York Times) “Best Years of My Life.” Moving from celebratory anthems, classic country storytelling and vibey swagger, the Grammy-nominated trio are back and sounding Annie-er than ever.

Following last week’s sold-out show at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium, the trio will perform a sold-out show tonight at NYC’s intimate venue The Town Hall and LA’s breakout downtown concert hall The Novo on Nov. 7. These shows are the Annies’ way of inviting their fans into their living room to hang, talk, laugh and commiserate about real life while singing their own kind of country music.
