Montreal – Thursday March 29th 2018 – Sony Music Canada proudly presents: Deux cents nuits à l’heure XL, available on May 11th 2018. Forty years after its initial release in 1978, this newly remastered version of the legendary album that brought together Serge Fiori and Richard Séguin, two of the most influential Quebecois singer-songwriters of all time.
To celebrate this first reissue in forty years, multiple formats will be made available, all remastered thanks to a new transfer from the original analogue master tapes: digital, CD and 180g vinyl. Fiori and Séguin reunited in studio for the first time since ’78 alongside mastering engineer, Ryan Morey who also worked on Harmonium’s L’Heptade XL remaster and: Arcade Fire – Funeral, Half Moon Run – Dark Eyes, SUUNS – Felt, Lhasa de Sela – Live in Reykjavik etc. This newly remastered version offers a fuller more dynamic sound, creating a refreshed sonic experience of this classic Quebecois album.
Fans will rediscover the songs that captured an era where these two singer-songwriters were able to perfectly combine progressive rock sounds with popular music of the time.
Critically acclaimed at its release in 1978, adored by the public quickly selling over 200 000 units and heated up the airwaves with six of the seven songs in rotation on Quebec radio at the time. The duo also made history when they received the first “Félix” awards handed out at the inaugural Gala de L’ADISQ in 1979 for “Album of the year”, “Record of the year” and “Group of the year”.
