(Toronto, ON) February 9, 2024 – Rising R&B songstress, Aqyila, captivated audiences worldwide with her teaser of “Bloom,” and today, fans can press play on the full song with the highly anticipated release now available on all streaming services. Aqyila is solidifying her position as a standout talent in the R&B scene, boasting an impressive 51 million global streams and earning two nominations for the 2024 JUNO Awards where she’s up for Contemporary R&B Recording of the Year for For the Better EP and Traditional R&B/Soul Recording of the Year for “Hello.” Listen Here.

The anticipation surrounding “Bloom” has been palpable, with the song’s teaser going viral on social media platforms, it accumulated over 325K TikTok creates and amassed more than 18 million views across Aqyila’s own videos using the sound. International superstars such as Camila Cabello, Lu Kala and Jay Versace all expressed their excitement for the track’s release. While actress Jessica Alba and reality TV personality Raven Ross, (Love Is Blind), created their own videos using the sound. Adding to the buzz, Aqyila has been named as Spotify Canada’s RADAR Artist of the Month for February.

With songwriting by Aqyila and Maya J’an Brown, and production by Jonathan Elkær (Alina Baraz, Khalid), “Bloom” is a poignant romantic anthem, grounded in soothing, soft melodies exploring the bliss of love. A fusion of soulful R&B and pop, Aqyila’s distinctive sound resonates with audiences, who connect deeply with the relatability of her lyrics. 

“It’s a love song that reminds you why you love the person that you’re with. Why they’re your safe space on your hardest days,” said Aqyila of the track.  “Writing this song just gave me chills, it instantly felt special. I see it as a wedding song,” she continued.

The lead up to the release of “Bloom” was preceded by the success of Aqyila’s debut EP, For The Better. Standout track, “Hello,” achieved GOLD certification in South Africa, racking up over 27 million streams, and debuting at #30 on Billboard’s TikTok Top 50 Chart in December.
