The Chicago native’s chart-topping 7th Studio LP Gets a 13-Track Boost

Lil Durk adds to his milestone 2022 with the release of the Deluxe edition of his groundbreaking album, 7220. The re-release includes 13 new songs, with features from Moneybagg Yo, EST Gee, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Ella Mai, and his OTF signee Doodie Lo. Durk showcases his versatility across the project, from aggressive, uncut street bangers like “Burglars & Murderers” and “Huuh” to sensual romantic anthems like “IYKYK.”

7220 was released March 11 and debuted #1 on the Billboard 200 charts, Durk’s first solo album to accomplish this feat. One month later, the album went #1 again his first album to ever reach the top of the Billboard chart more than once. The album has since been certified gold by the RIAA and has surpassed over 1 billion cumulative streams since release, led by the platinum-certified crossover jam “Broadway Girls,” which peaked #14 on the Hot 100, and Gunna-assisted “What Happened To Virgil,” Durk’s first-ever top 5 song at Urban Radio in his decade long career.

Durk’s 7220 Deluxe comes during Paris Fashion Week, where the Chicago native has made his mark, walking at the Amiri Spring-Summer 2023 Runway Show and appearing at the Givenchy Show. Earlier in the month, Durk was spotted courtside at Game 4 of the NBA Finals in Boston, while last month he threw out the first pitch for the Chicago White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field, accompanied by children from his home neighborhood courtesy of his Neighborhood Heroes Foundation.

Yesterday, Durk announced his Fall 7220 Deluxe Tour, with support from Nardo Wick and Doodie Lo. It is the continuation of this Spring’s 17-city run, which culminated in a homecoming in front of a sold-out United Center. The new run, which begins September 17, adds 15 more dates including shows in Brooklyn and Los Angeles. Durk’s festival run this summer includes Hot 97’s Summer Jam which took place two weeks ago, this Sunday’s Oh My! Festival in Rotterdam, and July’s Rolling Loud New York. Earlier this month, Lil Durk performed in Los Angeles for Apple Music Live, the platform’s live performance series. The show will be available to stream in full next Wednesday, June 29th at 7:00p PST exclusively on Apple Music.

About Lil Durk

Chicago’s Lil Durk is not only one of the forefathers of Chicago’s drill movement that influenced a generation of rappers across the world, he’s also one of rap’s current stars. 2020 saw Durk release two gold-certified albums – Just Cause Y’all Waited 2 and The Voice – which both peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart and produced 12 Billboard Hot 100 entries. In 2021, Durk released his first ever chart-topping album, The Voice Of The Heroes with Lil Baby, which earned him a BET Hip-Hop Award for Best Rap Duo. Thanks in part to his prolific run of high-profile collaborations, including songs with Drake, Kanye West, and the 3x-platinum “Back in Blood” with Pooh Sheisty, Durk earned the honor of having the most Billboard Hot 100 chart entries in 2021 with 42. In addition to his own releases, Durk has experienced success through his Only The Family label venture, which catapulted the late King Von to mainstream recognition shortly before his untimely passing. The 2021 OTF compilation Loyal Bros debuted #12 on the Billboard 200 chart. This year, 7220 debuted #1 on the Billboard 200 charts and subsequently went #1 again four weeks later. Boasting features from Morgan Wallen, Gunna, and Future, the gold-certified album is Durk’s most successful to-date, with over 1 Billion streams in 2 months.
