TORONTO, ON. – Columbia Nashville/Sony Music Nashville breakout singer and songwriter Kameron Marlowe has released a heart-wrenching new music video for his tender ballad “Steady Heart.” Watch the cinematic clip here.

The dramatic visual, directed by Jeff Johnson, brings to life the deeper meaning of the poetic refrain. Originally inspired in part by his parents’ 30-plus-year marriage, the song has been embraced by fans through Marlowe’s viral TikToks and become emblematic of love in all its forms.

“We wanted to do something different with this video and dig a little deeper into what this song could mean to others,” said Marlowe. “Everyone interprets songs differently. When you first listen, you immediately think of a happy couple’s love story – and that’s definitely the heart of what this song is – but for others, it might have a deeper meaning. In this case, the daughter is the ‘steady heart’ and the story that comes out of it is truly impactful.”

Johnson echoed, “I wanted to spin a different kind of visual and not go too literal to the lyric. The song as is, is such a timeless love song about a couple that a lot of people can relate to, whether it brings to mind a husband, a wife, a girlfriend, a boyfriend. For this story, the Steady Heart in the music video is the daughter, who tragically loses her mother in a car accident. She survives as a newborn at the scene of the accident. After a dramatic flashback and tragic opening to the video, the daughter, now five years old, is the only light in her father’s eyes. The story weaves the daughter as a feisty and energetic girl that her father truly admires, then one day a chance meeting happens in a grocery store that elevates their story together. “Steady Heart” has been Marlowe’s fastest-growing track to date, earning more than 15 million streams since its release in late 2021. Lauded by MusicRow as “A song to make you dreamy, soft, grateful and swoony” and highlighted by Wedding Chicks as one of the best First Dance candidates in 2022, Marlowe recently released a wedding version of the track responding to fans using the “true love anthem” (Wide Open Country) on their special days.
