For the sparse, soul-filled live performance, Townes invites viewers into an intimate living room setting mirroring the communal theme of her recently released debut major label EP Living Room Worktapes, released April 13. The 4-track collection, produced by Daniel Tashian (Kacey Musgraves, Golden Hour), has quickly gained early critical praise with NPR reflecting that “Townes reversed that order by showcasing the elemental parts of her expression – song and voice – first”, Rolling Stone naming “Somebody’s Daughter” one of the “Best Country Songs Of The Week” and HITS remarking that “Townes’ stunning vocal soars far and wide while cutting straight to the listener’s core.”

Poised for a breakout 2018, Townes introduced her debut EP Living Room Worktapes to music fans this Spring and has quickly emerged as one of Nashville’s most promising new artists. The 24-year-old Canadian native from Grande Prairie Alberta, began her music journey at 5 when she began singing and first picked up the songwriting pen at age 14. As a teenager, Townes traveled to Nashville, Tenn. for songwriting trips and continued to grow in her artistry – with candor and empathy in her writing. At 18, Townes desired to connect her music with her heart for humanity and launched her own charitable music tour, Play It Forward , where she logged 35,000 miles leading leadership and music workshops for students throughout Canada. Soon after, Townes drove her Toyota Tacoma the 45-hour journey from Canada to Nashville in 2013 to pursue her music career and quickly immersed herself in the heart of the city’s songwriting community. She has since emerged as a dynamic and genre-defying artist for her timeless, lyrical wisdom and bluesy, soulful voice; signing to Sony Music Nashville and Big Yellow Dog Music.

Readied for a breakout 2018, Townes announced today that she will join Bobby Bones for select tour dates this fall and has also been tapped by Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town for the country superstars’ co-headlining The Bandwagon Tour launching July 2018. This Spring Townes made her Sundance Film Festival and SXSW debut and shared the stage with Devin Dawson, Maren Morris and Steve Moakler on the road. In between introducing her music to fans on the road, Townes is currently writing and recording her debut LP with producer, Jay Joyce, at his Neon Cross studio in Nashville, Tenn.
