(October 3, 2017 – Los Angeles, CA) Eleven-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated multiplatinum rap icon, producer, actor, and The Conglomerate Entertainment C.E.O. BUSTA RHYMES just uncovered the music video for his new single “Girlfriend.

Watch it HERE.

Premiered yesterday on BET Jams, the visual provides a breathtaking cinematic experience. Directed by Busta Rhymes and the legendary Benny Boom, the clip follows BUSTA to Kingston, Jamaica as he gets in touch with his roots. Tapping into that Caribbean kick, dancehall legends Beenie Man, Ninja Man, Junior Reid, Vybz Kartel, Spice, Bounty Killer, and more make cameos. The stunning clip bridges two worlds, reflecting an island bounce with a twist of his signature speedy rhyme prowess.

“Girlfriend” also sets the stage for the release of BUSTA’s ninth full-length album and first for Epic Records—to be released very soon. In under a month, it’s already fast approaching 2 million Spotify streams in addition to earning features from Rolling Stone, Complex, XXL, Billboard, HotNewHipHop, and more.

He chronicled his recent trip to Jamaica in the upcoming documentary The Jamaica Journey. Not only does it pull back the curtain behind-the-scenes of the “Girlfriend” video, but it sees the artist candidly discuss the influence of West Indian culture on modern music as well as his connection to it. It’s set to debut very soon!

BUSTA RHYMES’ airtight grip on the game only gets tighter in 2017.  This year he celebrated the 20th Anniversary for “When Disaster Strikes” along with the 25th anniversary of “The Scenario” with A Tribe Called Quest.

Be on the lookout for some big announcements soon.

With his ironclad flow, uncatchable cadence, and unparalled vocal virtuosity, BUSTA RHYMES has influenced three generations of rappers and musicians since his emergence in 1989 as part of Leaders of the New School. A multiplatinum superstar, he went on to release a series of undisputed solo classics such as The Coming, When Disaster Strikes…, E.L.E. (Extinction Level Event): The Final World Front, Anarchy, and more. Along the way, he garnered a total of eleven GRAMMY® Award nominations. Simultaneously, he graced the big screen in blockbusters ranging from Shaft and Finding Forrester to Higher Learning and Halloween Resurrection. Ever the businessman, he serves as the C.E.O. of Conglomerate Entertainment as well. In 2017, he kicks off another era.

Get ready for another Extinction Level Event of Epic proportions from BUSTA this year!
