BUDDY & KENT JAMZ ANNOUNCE JOINT PROJECT JANK TAPE VOL. 1

Today, Buddy teams up with fellow LA native Kent Jamz to announce their new joint project and share its opening track. Jank Tape Vol. 1 will arrive April 17th and marks the latest collaboration between Buddy and Kent following last year’s single “Hollyhood,” which was also the first offering from Buddy’s forthcoming sophomore album. A renowned figure in the LA rap scene in his own right, Kent is also a member of LA rap group OverDoz., which has collaborated with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, Childish Gambino and A$AP Rocky. On “She Think,” Buddy and Kent demonstrate their hometown connection as they seamlessly trade stories of fleeting love interests.

Jank Tape Vol. 1 arrives ahead of Buddy’s sophomore album due later this year, the follow-up to his critically-acclaimed 2018 debut Harlan & Alondra. Following the release of the deluxe version of his debut last year, Buddy joined Vince Staples on an explosive North American tour, and performed at NPR’s Tiny Desk, The Late Late Show with James Corden and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Buddy also played a major role in the Grammy-nominated Revenge of the Dreamers III album, featuring on seven tracks on the Director’s Cut version including fan favorites “Costa Rica” and “1993.”
