NASHVILLE, Tennessee, April 4, 2019 – 4X U.S. Billboard Award and ACM “Single of the Year” nominee Kane Brown today announced the release of the official music video for his current Top 10 hit (#14 in Canada), “Good As You.” Premiering exclusively today on CMT, CMT Music, CMT.com, MTVU, MTVLive, Nick Music and the Viacom Times Square billboards in New York City, the video features a charming cinematic storyline loosely inspired by Kane’s childhood. Directed by Reid Long and produced by Christen Pinkston, the heart-warming video also stars 10-year-old breakout actor Lonnie Chavis (young Randall), from the Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominated series, “This Is Us” on NBC. Raised by all women, Kane shared the inspiration for the video’s concept, noting that the “video is paying tribute to my nana and my mom and how they raised me- I love them very much.” To hear Kane speak more on the inspiration for the video, watch HERE.
The 25-year-old entertainer released the video on the heels of his four U.S. Billboard Award nominations this morning for Top Country Artist, Top Country Male Artist, Top Country Album, and Top Country Song. This weekend, ACM nominated Brown will head to the 2019 ACM Awards, where he will perform “Good As You” on the award show on April 7 on CBS. A multi-year ACM nominee, Brown is currently nominated for “ACM Single of the Year” for his 4X Platinum smash (2x Platinum in Canada), “Heaven,” which previously won Favorite Song- Country at the 2018 American Music Awards. Written by Brown, Brock Berryhill, Shy Carter, Taylor Phillips and Will Weatherly, “Good As You” follows Brown’s multi-week chart-topping hits “Heaven” and “What Ifs” off his record-breaking debut album and is the follow-up single to the singer/songwriter’s Platinum-certified #1 airplay and streaming hit, “Lose It,” off of his #1 debuting album Experiment. Ranked by The New York Times as one of the Top 10 Best Albums of the Year, Experiment is available to stream and download HERE.
Brown continues to shatter records, first becoming the first artist in Billboard history to Top all 5 Billboard Country charts and most recently, with his record-breaking attendance Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo performance. There, he set a new record for the biggest country artist debut in Rodeo Houston history with 75,126 fans in attendance, and, with the new Platinum certification of “Heaven,” (2x Platinum in Canada) became one of only five country acts with multiple 4X Platinum hits (joining Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Sam Hunt and Taylor Swift). Within his sophomore chart-topping album Experiment, Brown debuted #1 on both the U.S. Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums chart, becoming the only male country artist in more than 24 years to debut at the top of the Billboard 200, and only one of three country artists to top the Billboard 200 chart in all of 2018.
