Job Description

Sony Music Canada is looking for an exceptional professional to join the IS&T Global Technology team. As an Associate Director, Global Technology, you will be responsible for the local implementation and support of Sony Music’s global core business systems across multiple departments.

The Associate Director, Global Technology will have a strong understanding of regulatory and reporting requirements combined with the understanding of key performance indicators for the organization. The ideal candidate will have a natural analytical way of thinking and be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical users.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary contact between the users and the project team to review, analyze and evaluate business systems and user needs.
  • Implementation and support of local Sony Music’s global core business systems across multiple departments.
  • Work closely with internal, global, and leadership team to help improve the management of business processes
  • Develop and implement solutions that help achieve SMC’s business’ goals.
  • Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, analyze implemented changes, recommend areas for improvement
  • Stay up to date on the latest processes; improve systems by studying current practices; design modifications
  • Effectively communicate insights, understand financial and/or operational impact of any changes to cross-functional team members and management
  • Report project progress to all levels of management and user groups.
  • Overseeing desktop and network support and infrastructure
  • Oversee the team responsible for network, desktop and application support.
  • Create system guidelines, SOP’s, and reference materials
  • Develop and facilitate training sessions and workshops on system processes

The work environment is fast-paced, and the ideal candidate will have the ability to inspire clear, careful, and well-communicated outcomes on a wide number of matters in time-sensitive situations.

 

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Business
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in an IT environment
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Professional project or program management experience of system design, development, or integration projects
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and leverage relationships
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; capable of selling ideas and explaining technical concepts to non-technical department heads and managers
  • Experience working with senior decision makers
  • Advanced technical skills
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook, SAP Console, Basware, CDS and Concur
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.
